For your next visit to our practice, please take note of the following important guidelines we have put in place at Palmieri Orthodontics to protect the health and safety of our patients and staff.

As per NY state and federal government mandates, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our office is implementing a number of extra precautions for your safety.

TODAY and EVERYDAY we utilize the recommendations from the American Dental Association for dental office infection control.
  1. All instruments are heat and steam sterilized in state of the art autoclaves.

  2. Our autoclaves are tested weekly which is the manufacturer recommendation.

  3. Any instruments and all equipment that come in contact with patients/and or staff that cannot be sterilized are protected with a disposable barrier.

  4. All surfaces are disinfected with a solution that is tuberculocidal, bactericidal, virucidal and fungicidal.

  5. All clinical staff are required to wear personal protective equipment which includes gloves, masks and protective eyewear.

  6. All common non clinical areas including countertops, door knobs and chairs are routinely wiped down and the office is cleaned regularly from a company that uses hospital grade disinfectants and HEPA cleaners.
Prior to your orthodontic visit, patients must please be sure to:
  1. Read, complete and sign the two forms our office shared with you: Health History Questionnaire and the Informed Consent Form and email back to [email protected] prior to your appointment. Be sure to include your contact information as requested.

  2. Brush your teeth and floss at home. Also, please note that our restroom will be available for emergencies only.

  3. Wear a mask, bandana or scarf to your appointment.

  4. Upon arrival, please call or Text (516) 816-5714 when you arrive.

  5. We ask that you proceed to the office entrance, where we will take and record your temperature. Please do not have anything cold or hot right before your appointment as this may affect the reading. If you should feel poorly or have a temperature, we will reschedule your appointment.

  6. If you are well, you will be escorted to the treatment area.

  7. We ask that parents/guardians return to their cars to wait for their children during their appointments.
** Please note that our office has its own private exit into the parking lot.

** We ask that parents remain in the car to minimize the number of people in the office; this will assist us in meeting our social distancing and infection control requirements. Should a parent accompany their child into the office, temperature and health questions will be asked as with the patient and we ask that parents wear a mask. We’ve always loved inviting parents into the clinic; however parents cannot enter the clinic until further restrictions are lifted. The parent would then be asked to remain in the reception area for the duration of the child’s treatment. **

Should you have an orthodontic emergency that requires our immediate attention you can call or text us at (516) 816-5714

While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your health and safety. We look forward to seeing you all very soon!

Stay healthy, stay positive, stay united!

Sincerely, Dr. Palmieri and Staff
